Urban Photographer of the Year 2015 Highly Commended
I’m thrilled to share that my night shot of Singapore, titled "Catfish Feast," was awarded Highly Commended by the judges of the International Urban Photographer of the Year competition. This marks my first ever placing in a competition, and I’m absolutely chuffed to bits!
Canon EOS 70D
The shot was taken on my trusted Canon EOS 70D while I was simply strolling around the busy Chinatown scene in Bangkok. It wasn’t a particularly challenging shot to take – just instinctively snapping away as I always do.
What truly surprised me was that this image wasn't even my first, second, or third choice to enter. To receive such recognition from the judges was an incredible surprise and a reminder that sometimes the best images happen when you least expect them.
Reasonably Priced Camera
The image proves that you don’t need an expensive camera to capture award-winning photos. It’s all about capturing the right moment, and this shot definitely captured the essence of the urban landscape.
